Birds of Florida Art & Nature Project by Saint Edward's Class of 2027
Birds of Florida Art & Nature Project by Saint Edward's Class of 2027
Arts Education is an essential part of the curriculum at Saint Edward's School and the proximity to the Indian River Lagoon provides great material for students. The Class of 2027 celebrated our nation's first Wildlife Refuge-Pelican Island- by drawing birds of Florida. Each student chose a bird to research and render. We invite you to see how they drew the subjects with traditional studio materials including graphite, colored pencils, and watercolors. They uploaded the studies to digital platforms and created posters combining images and text. The original artwork and posters are on display at the Environmental Learning Center in the Lagoon Room and Tidal Gallery until September 15th, 2023.
