There's no other race like it in the world, the 8th Annual Save the Chimps Chimpathon 5K/10K on Saturday, February 25, 2023. It's a rare chance to combine a healthy run with an opportunity to see over 200 chimpanzees in natural habitats.

The chip-timed race on a flat, fast course will start and finish at the Save the Chimps sanctuary west of Fort Pierce.

Awards will be given to top finishers, and all participants will receive a finisher medal, performance shirt and a goody bag filled with items from sponsors.

Runners can choose among the 5K, 10K, virtual and -- new this year -- the Chimpathon 2.5K for those who just want to run or walk around the sanctuary.

Entrant discounts abound: 10% off for register three or more participants, and for youth ages 17 and under. Military and First Responders can email info@southerntimingfl.com for special pricing.

Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers in each category: overall, masters, and age group. All participants will receive a commemorative finisher certificate, results, pace breakdown and a 20-second video of them crossing the start and finish lines.

Save the Chimps provides refuge to over 220 chimpanzees rescued from labs and the entertainment industry. It is not open to the public except for occasional seasonal events like Chimpathon.
